What material are Orac Decor products made of?
Orac Decor products are
made from high-quality polymers, combining the
characteristics of robustness, malleability and quality of materials
synthetic, with the appearance of wood or plaster.
They are distinguished from the products
made of wood, MDF or plaster because they are more resistant, lighter and easier to
install. Most products are made of high quality polyurethane

DUROFOAM A lightweight polymer
extruded from a mixture of medium density polystyrenes.

Durofoam enhanced polystyrene which gives them a sleek style. Ideal for

Can Orac Decor products be used outdoors?
All Purtotouch and Duropolymer products are suitable for outdoor use, but not Durofoam products. It is essential to use DecoFix Power (FDP700) adhesive for installation and DecoFix Extra (FX400) adhesive for finishing the joints. The products must then be coated with a quality exterior paint.
How long can you keep the glue?
The glue can be kept for one year after
its manufacture. An expiration date appears on each cartridge. (The right of withdrawal does not apply to the glue and the seal)
What is the classification of Orac Decor standard products?
The Euroclass of reaction to fire is
E. This means that the product can burn, will continue to burn and that the fire
will not turn off automatically. The products
Orac Decor 3D Wall Covering are not fireproof as standard (class E).
Purotouch profiles can be treated with a flame retardant coating for
obtain European certification B-s2 d0 or C-s2 d0 (for coatings
complete walls). This certification gives the product a degree
fireproofing suitable for most commercial applications. Many
interiors or projects must comply with strict regulations
fire protection. We can provide you with a fire certificate for Purotouch
on request.
What is the maximum heat resistance of Orac Decor products?
The products are resistant to a maximum temperature of 70°C (chimney flue - radiator, etc.)
Do Orac Decor products have thermal and acoustic insulation properties?
Orac Decor 3D wall coverings have positive acoustic and thermal properties. They provide sound absorption of up to 25% and thermal insulation comparable to that of conventional insulation panels of the same thickness. A W108 / W109 / W110 acoustic certificate is available upon request.

Is it easy to install crown molding?
Orac Decor products are easy to install. It's important to follow the step-by-step installation instructions and use the correct adhesives. Click here to download installation manuals or watch installation videos.
Are moldings easy to paint?
Yes, the products already have a primer and are ready to paint. Water-based paints or enamels are recommended, and if other types of finishes are applied, we recommend testing them first.
What type and quantity of glue for my project?
DECOFIX PRO (FDP500) is a strong, water-based, acrylic installation adhesive for indoor installation on porous surfaces and non-humid rooms.
DECOFIX POWER (FDP700) is an ultra-strong MS-polymer installation adhesive used for large moldings or for outdoor use, on non-porous surfaces (tile, glass, etc.) or humid environments such as the bathroom.
These glues can be painted after drying (24 hours minimum waiting time).
We recommend using one cartridge for approximately 10 linear meters of moldings.
How to get the best finish between cornices?
For perfect joints, we recommend DecoFix Extra glue (FX400).
After gluing the two moldings, it is important to press them together. Excess glue must be removed immediately with a spatula. After 20 minutes, the excess glue is removed again with a spatula and the joint is lightly sanded. This joint can then be finished with Decofiller filler (FL300).
How to remove glue residue?
• DecoFix Pro FDP500 (for porous surfaces indoors): remove immediately with water.
• DecoFix Power FDP700 (for all interior and exterior surfaces): immediately with a soapy solution or a cleaning cloth.
• DecoFix Extra FX400 (for perfect joints): after 20 minutes, using a spatula and acetone, thinner or a cleaning cloth.
Are there any specific tools to make installing cornices easier?
Orac Decor's FB13 miter box is specially designed for cutting moldings. Its slots and grooves make it very practical for cutting 90-, 45-, or 22.5-degree angles. It is suitable for any type of cornice, chair rail, or baseboard not exceeding 15.5 cm wide and 12.5 cm high.
If you need to cut larger moldings, the FB300 cutting box with its FB14 saw will make your task easier.
For professionals, we offer the VARIOMATIC FB10 cutting box with its case and accessories. It adapts to all angles for high-precision cutting.
Is it possible to install moldings on painted surfaces or wallpaper?
Yes, this is possible using DecoFix Power (FDP700) adhesive. However, it is important that the painted surface is clean, dry, and grease-free. It is best to remove wallpaper before installing moldings, if necessary by cutting it out and removing it at the desired location. If this is not possible, use DecoFix Power as an adhesive to stick your moldings.
How to install moldings on rounded walls?
Flexible moldings are ideal for curved and rounded walls. Many cornices, picture rails, and baseboards are available in flexible versions. Lightweight and paintable, they are installed in the same way as rigid moldings. Flexible versions are identified by an "F" at the end of their reference.
Are the lighting cornices opaque to light?
All polyurethane cornices are completely opaque and do not let light through. (Purotouch range - reference starting with a "C") However, you will need an aluminum support for polymer cornices (Duropolymer range, reference starting with "CX") to prevent light from passing through the material.
