Cornice, picture rail or baseboard, a complete range of decorative elements.
ORAC DECOR decorative elements find their place in every room of the house, they bring a complement of decoration, style and finish during your work. The main elements are defined as follows:
Cornice: refers to the horizontal element placed at the wall-ceiling junction, it is decorated with concave, convex, or sharp-angled moldings.
Picture rail: most often refers to the horizontal element placed approximately a third of the way up the wall to separate the lower part (base) from the upper part of the wall.
Baseboard: refers to the low horizontal element, placed at the foot of the wall, along the floor. The baseboard has a decorative and utilitarian purpose, in particular it allows you to hide electrical or computer wires.

Synthetic materials, the plus of the ORAC DECOR range
The elements offered in the different ORAC DECOR ranges are all made of synthetic materials. Compared to traditional materials, in addition to their perfect plaster appearance , synthetic materials offer many advantages, summarized in the table below
What size should I choose for a molding, cornice or rosette?
Just as important as the decorative motif, it is essential not to make a mistake on the size of the cornice or rosette.
Indeed, a cornice that is too large will be cumbersome if there is a low ceiling.
Similarly, a rose window that is too small will be lost on the high ceiling of a large room.
To help you choose, here are some guidelines:
For a cornice:
Room height Cornice height/depth
< 240 cm < 8x8 cm
< 280 cm < 12x12 cm
< 310 cm > 12x12 cm
> 310 cm > 15x15 cm
These figures are given for an average-sized room of 12m² and should be adjusted according to the size of the room: reduce for a small room and increase for a large room.

Tips for installing your cornices or other ceiling moldings
The surface must be clean, dry and grease-free; it must be as smooth as possible. We recommend sanding the surface beforehand.
The ideal room temperature is between 10°C and 35°C. The room should not be too humid. To ensure easy installation, store Orac Decor® elements and adhesives at room temperature for 24 hours before installation.
Always use Decofix® special glues for perfect adhesion.
